Throw your belongings or shopping in a tote and go! This is easier in an urban environment, but be creative even in rural areas, like, ask a friend to join you on your errands.

take the stairs over elevator

This may be a small savings to the electrical grid but, the gain is huge! Get some fantastic cardio instead of seeing exercise only as a detour to the gym.

make your work-space happy

Do a deep clean and organize with the new year! Add plants, photos, and art. You need things that make you smile.


stand and sit

I love using a tall chair and desk. Transitioning from sitting to standing is seamless. If you do not have a standing desk option, set timers to remind you to get up and move and stretch. You can keep a water bottle in reach and drink lots of water. You will naturally need to move to the toilet every couple of hours.
