An important part of traditional Japanese garden. I watched these tiny toads grow.

Like the koi, the toads are a part of the water and the earth in the gardens. I photographed from a garden in Minato, Tokyo, sketched onto the bottle and hand etched before applying ink. The colorful ink drops are applied to bamboo paper which diffuses the light and makes it easier to see the etching even when illuminated.

Bespoke hand etched and inked upcycled glass bottle illuminated with a changeable LED bulb that will last approximately 15 years. Will work in 110v and 220v locations. The bottle held umeshu, a plum wine.
